Baking Time!

Today has been a day of baking. I have been home alone while my husband worked and I got so much accomplished.  After a trip to see my grandma in the nursing home, mom and I seperated and started baking.  I made M&M cookes, chocolate chip cookies, peanut butter candy cookies, peanut butter with recess pieces, oatmeal chocolate chip cookies, and rice krispy treats. The only thing left is peanut butter filled ritz crackers dipped in chocolate.  I do believe I have a thing for peanut butter, don't ya think??!!  photo.JPG

I love Christmas.  Everything is so pretty. The stores are always decorated, houses are bright in the night, and everyone gives homemade candy. When people take the time to make their holiday treats, it means so much more than going to the store and buying candy.  A person gives thought to what they bake and who for.  Right now, my house smells like freshly baked cookies and all without a candy burning. Normally I burn some kind of dessert flavored candle to make my house smell good. Not today!

I hope everyone has a wonderful Merry Christmas!!  May God Bless everyone.

Winter is Here!!!

Fall went by so fast. Though it is a wonderful time of year, nothing is better than Winter. Winter means warm sweaters, cute jackets, and new fleece pjs. I have to say, my all time favorite day is when I am snuggled on the couch watching Christmas movies and drinking hot chocolate with all my Christmas lights beaming.
The month of December had been insane. Greg and I finally finished another semester, work as slowed down for both of us, and we have been getting ready for Christmas. I always start shopping early for Christmas and this year had just flown by that I was a little behind. I finished on black Friday so I was a happy camper. Just have to get final stocking stuffers and all done for another year. Tomorrow starts our lovely Christmas gatherings. It is actually a girls only day. My mom, sister, and I are heading to Fort Smith for lunch, exchange our girl gifts, and then doing a little shopping. I am excited but I hope we don't run into mean people. Around the holidays people seem to have a mean streak when shopping. Not very much fun! Hopefully I will have some pictures of our Christmases in my next post. Have a Merry Christmas!!!

Fall

I absolutley love Fall.  It is getting cooler outside, the leaves are falling so the ground is pretty, and my house always smells so great due to candles.  Apparently, I burn more candles in the fall then any other time of the year according to Greg. I try to also keep my house clean because I have company over more for some reason. The decorations are also beautiful!  I finally decorated my house last week with the help from my sister.

The past two weeks I have been organizing my house and cleaning things out. I managed to have a garage sale with my family.  It was a success and I got loads out of my way. Now to keep it that way will be a challenge thanks to my husband. We shall see!

Tons of exciting things come up. I have a two day crop in Oct with some great women, Fall Fest at church where we will be hosting a haunted house called a "Glimpse of Hell", and then another scrapbook retreat at Mt. Eagle in Nov.  I love FALL!!!

Busy Busy Busy

I think busy is the theme for this blog.  It seems I am constantly stating how busy we are all the time.  Well, of course things have not changed for us.  Now we have added school to everything else in our lives. This year, Greg and I are both in school. (strange) We have never been in school at the same time since high school. I skipped out on college when I first graduated because I wanted to work instead. Greg chose school and also worked part time. Now that I work at ATU, I get to go to school for free so apparently I would be stupid if I didn't go. Greg gets to go part time which is awesome for us.  This is a great way for him to finish his degree now. He has just one more semester from having his degree and I could not be prouded of him.

Now to the fun part of the blog. My house is clean, cabinets stocked with food and the weekend has been great.  Yesterday, my sister and I took Kegean to Conway yesterday to see the Smurf movie.  It was such a cute movie and he loved it.  To hear his little laugh made it all worth it. I would look over at him during the movie and he had the biggest grin at his face. I loved it!! Then of course he became the average 4 year old without a nap. Once we got home, he was able to play with Uncle Greg in the yard so he was back to his fun self again.  Those are the times that we all enjoy.  I was so glad I got to spend some time with my sister too. It seems our lives stay so busy that we forget what is important sometimes. It is always good for God to hold us back to relax so we can catch up with ourselves and enjoy life again.

So my birthday was Wednesday.  I swear-I celebrated all week long. It was awesome!! I first started out on the Sunday before when my in laws gave me my bday present. They always give us money so we can go buy what we would like. I am thinking this year, I will spend my money on new fall decorations. I love fall and cannot wait to decorate.  Then of course Wed was a busy day. My mom and sister took me to lunch followed by the girls at work getting me snickers cupcakes from the Cake Place (awesome place) and a gift card to get new jewlery that I have been eyeing.  My wonderful husband got me a lap desk for all my homework that I do on the couch and a massage. I love massages!!  Then that night, my mom and poppy got me a massage as well.  I was in HEAVEN!!  Two massages are coming my way and I cannot wait.  Friday was another fun day! Amber took me to lunch and her and Kristi got me a gift card to Cracker Barrel to buy some home decor.  That place has the coolest and the most unique decor I have seen. Amber knows how much I love to shop there for gifts so now I get to buy myself something. Friday night I went to my dad's house where him and Nancy got me a huge wall art for my walls at home. After dads I met Tonya for dinner which was of course fun.

Well I should be studying and writing a paper instead of writing on my blog but I noticed it has been a while so I wanted to catch everyone up.  Hope everyone has a great day off tomorrow and enjoy the wonderful weather. Greg has to work so I plan to start getting garage sale stuff together for Saturday.

Everything the past month

I cannot believe it has been a month since I have posted something. Let me just say, things have been crazy as usual.  I worked so hard in order to get two extra weeks off for before the Fall semester starts. I managed to finish a five week course in three weeks just so I can rest some on the weekends and during the week I could enjoy some TV.  I don't consider myself to be a TV junkie but when a person goes without it for so long besides the news, that person has to catch up on life in reality television. I am hooked on the Bachelorette, Bachelor, Bachelor Pad, and of course all the cooking shows.  I don't know why they all fascinate me but I cannot let it go. The cooking shows consist of Hell's Kitchen, MasterChef, Cupcake Wars, and Cake Boss. If I miss a show, I must find it on the internet.

Anywho, Greg has not had to work as much as he did last year so that is always good but that means I am not able to save money like I wish. Greg also decided he was ready to go back to school.  He is going to major in Parks & Rec.  For some reason, that fascinates him...not me!  :)  That could be why I am not majoring in it. HA! I know my major does not fascinate him so oh well. School starts in two weeks for us and I am not ready. Greg is excited but I think I can control myself better. I am taking nine hours this semester and I know it is going to kick my hiney. I am sooo not ready for Fall to start.  :(

We have some fun events coming up soon.  This weekend we plan to take a small trip before school starts. We don't have any plans except to have some fun. maybe some shopping, a movie, and possibly a car show. Who knows with us!  Next week, I am taking a few days off work to get things done around the house before I get busy with school again. I have to go with my mom to the doctor on Thursday, then I have a doc appt on Friday.  The fun part is Valley Fest starts. NOT!!!  It does start, but not sure how much fun it will be. We are always hard at work, with little fun. Hopefully this year, we can take some breaks in between runs. Travis Tritt is singing this year, so it should be a good concert. I just hope we get to listen to it some.  The following week school starts. YIKES!  Start praying now that we both survive school.

Have a blessed day everyone!

OMG

Things have been absolutely nuts!!  Greg and I have been so busy in our lives we have to plan a date night together so we have time to see each other. It is so sad!!  We have seen some wonderful movies though. This summer will be a smash hit with movies. There are so many that we want to see and not enough time in the theaters or the day.  Greg has been working late and I have been doing homework constantly. If God was to ever give us a break, now would be the time to do it. We need a vacation!! I am not talking about one night somewhere, I am talking about a full week or heck, I would settle for a weekend away where we dont know anyone and we can do whatever we want with no plans.  Well time to get back to study and hoping my husband cooks dinner. hehe

Life is crazy

So, lately my life has been crazy. It has been so long since I have posted anything I don't even know where to start. Let's see....Summer school has started and I have been so stressed. I would not recommend taking a writing class during the summer. It is awful!  I am so busy with writing all the time, I cannot even make plans with family or friends.
Greg had his 28th birthday on the 7th and it went good.  He got some wonderful gifts including a new Iphone from me.  He has been begging for one for over a year now.  His parents both got one so I felt bad for him. The only one left without an Iphone.  I picked him up from work on the Friday before his bday and surprised him by going to AT&T.  He was shocked and loved every minute of it.
Valley Fest meetings have started up so I will be looking for volunteers to work for me. I always get excited at the beginning and then I just dread the weekend it gets here. We are constantly busy and never have time to enjoy it anymore.  This year we are getting Travis Tritt!!  The show will be great. I hope everyone can come out.
Year-end is approaching me at work again.  I hate when summer comes around because Greg and I are always so busy. I wanted to take a weekend to ourselves out of town before we got too busy but it approached way too quickly.  I guess we are stuck in Russellville until late August or September.  GEEZ!!
Well I am off to do more homework while I wait for my husband to get off work. Enjoy the hot weather!!
